The simple folder trick that unstuck my 2 year old novel draft
I had about 190 pages of a mystery novel sitting untouched since 2022, every time I opened it I just rearranged the same three chapters. Then a writing buddy in Portland told me to save each chapter as its own file and name them by what actually happens, not by numbers. Seeing 'Chapter 4 - waitress lies about the key' instead of 'Chapter 4' showed me where the plot stalled, I cut and merged two chapters in one sitting. Has anyone else tried renaming files to force a fresh look at their draft, or do you have a different system that finally got you moving?

My buddy tried that with a memoir, ended up deleting three chapters and starting fresh...
