inA customer in a wheelchair told me my cable run across their doorway was a trip hazard, so now I always ask about mobility needs before I start.
Six inches off the ground? That's practically a floor outlet! You'd have to get on your hands and knees to plug anything in. No wonder people complain about older homes being hard to live in. It makes you wonder what they were thinking when they built them that way.

inGot a brick stuck in a flue up in Portland last fall, ended up having to get creative with a magnet and some rope lol
That magnet trick is a total disaster waiting to happen. I tried something similar on my chimney in Gresham and the brick just wedged itself tighter. You really need a proper flue cleaning kit with the right brushes and poles. Messing around with rope can damage the liner or leave pieces behind that cause a fire. It's worth the hundred bucks to call a pro and know it's done safe.

inPro tip: A drop of lighter fluid on a stuck lens mount ring
My dad used to swear by a 50/50 mix of acetone and automatic transmission fluid for really bad cases. He'd apply it with a toothpick, let it sit for an hour, and it always broke the bond. I mean, you have to be super careful with acetone around plastics, but it works.

inFinally nailed a consistent crumb on my sourdough after switching to a 12-hour cold proof in the garage fridge.
Twelve hours is a huge chunk of time for a marginal gain. Most people just want to eat good bread, not run a science project in their garage. That schedule sounds impossible for anyone with a normal job or family. Quicker methods can still make a fantastic loaf without turning baking into a part-time job.

inA farmer in Nebraska told me he's planting a different crop now
My local hardware store has doubled its irrigation section in two years. People are buying way more drip lines and rain barrels than before. It's like everyone's quietly getting ready for drier summers.
