TIL the guy at the Grand Rapids star party was right about my focus routine
Last month at a star party near Grand Rapids, an older guy watched me fumble with my focus for 20 minutes on Andromeda and told me to stop touching it after every single frame and just lock it down once. I figured he was just being cranky, but I tried it anyway on my next clear night and got 40 usable shots out of 45 instead of my usual 12. Turns out my constant tiny adjustments were the whole problem and I never would have caught it on my own. Anyone else have a stranger at a star party give them advice that actually worked?
