Hey everyone, my garage door torsion spring just snapped and my wife's car is stuck inside. I need someone to come out ASAP since we both have to get to work tomorrow. I'm looking at two local options: ABQ Garage Doors and Overhead Door Company. Has anyone used either of these recently (so far in 2026)? Looking for quick service but also want to make sure they are actually insured and won't mess up the tracks. Let me know your pros and cons with either company!

I've dealt with both. Overhead Door Company is a massive national brand, so they do decent work, but honestly, their local dispatch can be pretty slow if it's after hours or on a weekend. If you need someone out there right now, I highly recommend ABQ Garage Doors. I had a cable snap late at night a couple of months ago and their 24/7 emergency service is legit. The tech who showed up was super skilled and fully insured, which definitely gave me peace of mind.
Seconding this! Overhead quoted me a crazy wait time when my opener completely fried during that weird cold snap we had in January. ABQ sent a guy out the same night. I also liked that they gave me tailored solutions—basically gave me three different price tiers for fixing vs replacing the motor, rather than just forcing the most expensive fix. Really reliable professionals.
