TIL a plumber in Albuquerque told me to stop using flex seal tape on supply lines
He pointed at the tape patch on my shutoff valve and told me it was hiding a slow leak that would have flooded my closet within 3 weeks. Now I swap the whole valve and use real pipe dope, has anyone else had a plumber call out a quick fix that scared them straight?
