Hit 9 weddings in 18 months and I barely know who I am anymore
My buddy Dave got married in Austin back in March, that was number 9 since early 2023. I did the math on a napkin at the reception and it worked out to almost $4,600 in gifts, flights, and hotel rooms just to watch people I like say vows. Somewhere around wedding 6 I started dreading the group chat because it felt less like friends celebrating and more like a bill I kept paying to stay on the invite list. Did anyone else hit a number like this and just quietly tap out, or did you keep showing up?
