My college crew used to show up unannounced, now it takes 3 texts and a calendar invite
In 2011 my roommates and I would just walk into each other's places, no knock, no plan. Last Saturday I tried to get four of those same people together for a burger and it took 11 texts across two days plus a shared calendar link to land on a time. I think the shift happened around 2017 when everyone got real jobs and started saying things like 'let me check with my wife.' Now one buddy in Dayton has a kid and a lawn and honestly I get it. But it feels weird that setting up a two hour hang now takes more planning than my actual job. Has anyone found a low effort way to keep a group of old friends actually seeing each other without turning it into a project?
