Picked between my old college buddy and my new neighbor for a 3 day trip, and it got weird
So about 4 months ago I had 3 days off and two people asked to hang. My college buddy Mark, who I see maybe once a year, wanted a camping trip. My neighbor Dan, who I see every week, wanted to just chill at his place and grill. I picked Dan because it was easier and closer and honestly I was tired. Mark got quiet when I told him and we have not talked much since, maybe 2 texts in 4 months. Dan and I had a fine time but it was nothing special, just burgers and a ballgame. Now I keep thinking I traded a 12 year friendship for convenience and I am not sure how to fix it. Has anyone else picked the easy hang over the old friend and regretted it?
