Question about a moment at my kid's soccer game last Saturday

I realized I'd been waiting for old friends to reach out first, so I just texted three people from the sidelines and now we have a camping trip planned.

Yeah the "normal thing" part got me lol. I was at a swim meet last month and texted my sister about some old inside joke from a billboard we passed. Ended up on the phone for an hour and now she's coming to visit next month. Sometimes the boring moments are the best time to reach out.

Wait, is this really a big deal? You just sent some texts while your kid played soccer. People do that all the time. It's nice you have a trip planned, but it sounds like a normal thing, not some huge life change.
