Vent: I stopped doing group hangouts and started doing 1 on 1 dinners and my friendships got 10x better
I used to think I had to keep up with my college crew from Ann Arbor with big group texts and a monthly bar night, but I'd walk away feeling like I barely talked to anyone. Six months ago I started just grabbing dinner with one person at a time, and now I actually know what's going on in their lives instead of guessing from a group chat. Group stuff is fine but it's mostly noise, nobody opens up with 8 people at a table. Does anyone else feel like the group hangs are keeping the real friendships from growing?
