My calendar app double-booked me into a fake dentist visit

Last Tuesday I showed up at Dr. Patel's office in Austin for a cleaning that didn't exist. Turns out I put the appointment in my phone for next month but set the reminder for today, so I drove 20 minutes for nothing. The receptionist was nice about it, but I sat in the parking lot for a solid 5 minutes feeling like a total clown. Has anyone else had a calendar mix-up that made you question your whole system?
