Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he’d been paying $40 a month for a storage unit holding his ex’s stuff for 3 years

He said he finally checked it and it was just a box of old magazines and a broken lamp. Has anyone else held onto something way too long out of guilt or laziness?

Oh man, that's rough. Three years and $40 a month for a broken lamp and some magazines? I've been there though. I had a box of old concert shirts from high school sitting in my closet for like six years because I thought I'd wear them again or they'd be worth something someday. Finally just took a picture of them and donated the whole pile. Felt a lot lighter after that honestly. Sometimes you just gotta rip the bandaid off.
