I was about 8 miles north of the Nitinat Narrows crossing when the sky just opened up sideways. Hail started pelting us so hard I had to ditch my poles and crawl under a fallen cedar with my partner for 45 minutes until it passed. Anyone else had a weather event totally blindside them on a trail you thought you knew?

TIL my AC unit was clogged by a cottonwood seed nest

I live in the North Valley and last Tuesday my AC just stopped blowing cold air. Temp hit 95 inside. Called a local guy out and he pulled a massive chunk of cottonwood fluff and seeds out of the condenser coil. Said it's super common around here this time of year. Cost me $150 for the service call. Now I'm hosing off the outside unit every spring. Anyone else in ABQ deal with this?

I was running conventional 15w-40 for years in my Cummins ISX, figured heavier was better for a high-mileage engine. After I switched to Rotella T6 last month, my oil temps went from 215 to 200 on the same hill climb. Any of you guys see that kind of drop with full synthetic?
