I mean, idk, but noticing more folks my age buying homes way out of town and I'm split on following them.

Bigger house is nice but that drive will eat up your free time, makes you wonder if it's worth it.

My friend got a huge house out in the suburbs last year... said the space was amazing at first. But then he was spending three hours every day just driving to work and back. He missed his kid's soccer games because he was always stuck in traffic. Ended up selling the place after only ten months... just wasn't worth losing all that time. Now he rents a smaller place closer to the city and has way more free time.

Three hours a day in the car? That's not a commute, that's a part-time job you pay for with your own gas. Imagine trading all that time just for a bigger laundry room to clean. He basically bought a fancy viewing room for traffic reports. Glad he figured out the math on that one.
