A guy at my gym swore his air fryer salmon beat his $40 grill, so I tested it
Last week a guy at my gym in Reno told me he quit grilling salmon because his air fryer does it better in 9 minutes. I didn't believe him, so I grabbed two fillets from the store and cooked one on my old charcoal grill and one in the air fryer at 400 for 8 minutes. The air fryer one had crispy edges and stayed way juicier in the middle, honestly not even close. Now I'm wondering if I've been wasting charcoal all summer for no reason. What temp and time do you all use for salmon, and do you flip it halfway?
The air fryer does great but it's not really a fair fight since grilling adds smoke flavor you can't get in a basket. Try 375 for 10 minutes without flipping, the skin side down gets plenty crispy.
