My air fryer started smoking like crazy while I was making frozen fries in my apartment kitchen
I pulled the basket out and found a single, forgotten onion ring from a previous cook stuck to the bottom heating element. Has anyone else had a surprise ingredient cause a kitchen crisis?

Ever wonder if the smoke alarm is the real final boss of apartment cooking? That onion ring was basically a charcoal briquette by the time you found it. I bet your whole place smells like a burnt diner now. Next time you preheat, maybe give the empty basket a quick shake to check for stowaways.

Disagree, my smoke alarm is basically a decoration at this point. That burnt smell just adds character to the place.

Notice how so many small annoyances come from not checking things first. We skip the quick look in the oven or the glance at the gas gauge. It's like we're all in a hurry to make bigger mistakes.
