That $40 silicone air fryer liner melted into my basket

Bought a pack of those reusable silicone liners off Amazon thinking they'd save me cleanup time, but the bottom one fused to my basket at 380 degrees and ruined the nonstick coating. Anyone else had these things fail on high heat?

Wait so was this the basket type or the tray type? I had a tray liner that warped really bad at 350 and started dripping into the bottom of the drawer, but it never fully melted. Did you notice any weird smell or smoke before it fused or did it just happen all at once? Trying to figure out if there's a warning sign I should be looking for with these things.

Wait, did you check the fine print on the package? @evangarcia most of those silicone liners specifically say they're only rated up to 350 or 400 degrees, but they also mention you can't use them with the air fryer preheated or on the bottom rack where it gets direct heat. My buddy had the same issue and found out his liner said "oven safe to 450" but not air fryer safe because the fan circulates hot air differently and creates hot spots. I bet the silicone they're using is just cheap filler with a low melting point, not the real food-grade stuff. Honestly, if you want a liner that won't do this, get the ones made of Parchment with a metal rim, they're legit and won't fuse to anything.

Switched to parchment with metal rims after mine melted and never looked back.
