Unpopular take: Frozen wings beat fresh ones in the air fryer every time

I see everyone saying fresh wings are the only way to go, but honestly I tried both side by side last Sunday. I did 20 frozen wings at 380 for 12 minutes then 400 for 8 more, and 20 fresh ones the same way. The frozen ones came out way crispier on the outside and still juicy inside, while the fresh ones got a bit dry even with baking powder. I seasoned both the same with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Has anyone else had better luck with frozen over fresh?

Did you use a wire rack for the fresh ones or just toss them straight in the basket?

@joseph_hunt I just tossed them straight in the basket like a lazy fool. Probably explains why the fresh ones went all sad and dry on me.
