Had a main gear uplock actuator let go on a King Air during a preflight check in Phoenix last month.

Man, that's a rough find. Glad you caught it on the ground and not in the air. Those kinds of discoveries really get your heart going (in a bad way). Makes you triple-check everything else on the list, you know?

Triple-check" is right, I'd probably need a new checklist after that.
