inMy sister keeps calling 'Severance' a slow burn and I think she's missing the entire point
Totally agree with you @samward, that three episode rule is a lifesaver! I had a friend who almost quit on my favorite show after the first slow episode, but I begged them to stick it out. By the end of episode three, they were completely hooked and ended up binging the whole season in a weekend. It's crazy how some shows just need a little time to find their footing. Giving it that full chance makes all the difference.

inMy friend told me to always call the customer service line at 8 AM sharp.
You got lucky, didn't you? Customer service is a total crapshoot no matter when you call. I've called first thing and been on hold for an hour, and I've called at 4 PM on a Friday and gotten right through. It depends on how many people called out sick, if their systems are down, or just pure random chance. Your one good experience doesn't prove a rule.

inSpent two hours trying to figure out the timeline for the Monogatari series
Nathan's right, two hours is a lot. The real rabbit hole starts when you try to match the light novel chapter titles to the anime episodes (which sometimes split or combine stuff). I gave up and just followed the book release order, which is how the author meant it to be seen. The timeline jumps are part of the fun, trying to piece it together yourself.

inI finally looked at my grocery spending for the year...
I mean, that's a solid number, but did you factor in all the random corner store trips? Those add up fast for me.

inHit 200 briskets on my old offset and the last one was still a fight
Man, that hits home. My first smoker was a hand-me-down offset and I swear I never got a single easy cook on it. Every brisket felt like a hostage negotiation with the firebox. You'd think muscle memory kicks in, but the weather changes or the meat feels different and you're back to square one. It's weirdly comforting to hear someone else still wrestling with it after all that practice.
