Shoutout to the 5 minute rice trick for reviving my soaked PS4 controller
My little brother spilled a full glass of sweet tea on my DualShock 5 during a Fortnite session over the weekend, and it started drifting and beeping at random. Everyone on here says to rip it open right away and hit it with isopropyl alcohol, but I tossed it in a ziplock with dry rice and a silica packet for 5 days instead. It powered on clean this morning and the sticks read dead center in the test menu, no drift at all. I get why people hate the rice trick, but the rice never touches the board if you bag it right, and it saved me a 45 minute teardown I was dreading. Has anyone tried rice on a Joy-Con that got dunked in a puddle, or does the rail chip still fry?
