PSA: I saw a huge drop in repeat write-ups after our shop started using a torque wrench logbook.
We logged every single fastener on a Cessna 172 annual, and the number of squawks from the test pilot went from 3 to zero. How many of you keep a formal log for critical systems?

Our old shop had a binder for the landing gear bolts on King Airs. We logged the torque value, date, and who turned the wrench. Went from finding at least one loose bolt every inspection to maybe one in two years. That logbook made guys double check their work every single time. It just makes you stop and think.

Wait, you were finding loose bolts on landing gear EVERY inspection before that? That's terrifying. I know paperwork is a pain but that's the kind of thing that makes it worth it. It's crazy how just having to sign your name makes you actually look at what you did.
