Showerthought: Titanium lockwire or stainless? Which one actually holds better?

I snapped three strands of titanium lockwire last Thursday on a Cessna 172 exhaust nut. Switched to stainless and it twisted fine but it felt flimsy. The older guy in the hangar says titanium is for jets, not GA birds. But I see guys using it on everything. What's your go-to and why?

Titanium is brittle. Stick with stainless for GA, it’s more forgiving.

Wait, are you saying titanium is brittle? I've been using a Ti clip on my GA for like six months now and haven't had any issues at all. Maybe I just got lucky, but it's held up fine through a ton of trigger time and drops.
