Tried safety wire pliers on a fuel filter job and the twist came out looking like a candy cane
I was doing a fuel filter swap on a 172 last Tuesday and decided to try my new safety wire pliers instead of doing it by hand like I always have. The twist came out way too tight and bunched up near the bolt head, so I had to cut it off and redo the whole thing, wasting about 20 minutes and a foot of wire. Is there a trick to setting the tension on those pliers or do I just need more practice with them?
