Quit my 10 year job at the diner and the regulars still text me

After a decade of 6am pancake flips in Denver, I walked out over the new owner cutting my Sunday shift pay in half. The weird part is, three regulars found my number and now send me pics of their omelets, asking when I'm coming back. Has anyone else had customers follow them after quitting, or is that just a small town thing?
