inAppreciation post: My accountant told me to charge $120 an hour instead of $80, and I thought he was crazy (but he was right)
Right? It's wild how that works. I used to think a lower price was the only way to get jobs. Then I bumped my rate up. The calls didn't stop. The clients who called were way more serious. They listened better, didn't argue about every little thing. It filters out the people who just want the cheapest thing.

inTrying to figure out why my new fern kept dropping leaves
Wait, the steam from your sink made the air drier? That's the part that gets me. I always figured steam would add moisture. My brain just short-circuited for a second. Good call on getting the meter, I would have just kept drowning the poor thing.

inJust found out the average drywall sheet has over 2,000 paper fibers per square inch
Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's story. He was cutting some old pressure treated lumber and got a giant splinter. The doctor told him the green stuff in there is copper, which is why it fights rot (and also why it stained his hand for a week). He never looked at a 4x4 the same way again.

inSpent a whole day trying to get a simple cabinet door to hang straight
Tbh that line about cabinets being for storage not art pieces really hits home. I read this thing once about how our brains are wired to spot tiny flaws even when they don't matter. Makes you chase perfect for no reason.
