My motion sensor false alarm fix worked, but I'm looking for better ideas

Moved it away from the air vent and the nightly alerts stopped. How do you handle persistent sensitivity problems?

Try turning down the sensitivity dial if it has one, worked for mine. Also had a friend say mounting it lower on the wall helped with pets setting it off. Humidity changes can mess with them too sometimes.

Humidity changes never made sense to me before. You saying that actually explains why mine went off last night after I took a shower.

My old place in Houston had the same issue with shower steam. I ended up relocating the alarm down the hall and it helped a lot.
