Put $200 into a cellular dialer upgrade after my last install got cut by a backhoe and now I sleep way better at night knowing false alarms won't get me chewed out by dispatch

Has anyone else tossed money at a dual-path communicator and felt the relief when a landline goes down but the panel still phones home?

Bought a dual path unit for my ranch panel after a cow rubbed against the pole and knocked the phone line loose. Felt like a genius when the cellular path kept the monitoring center happy and I didn't get that 3 AM call from dispatch. Funny enough the cow is still alive, she just got a new scratching spot near the buried cable. Now I keep a spare SIM card in my truck just in case that cell module decides to act up. Honestly the peace of mind is worth the upfront hassle, especially when livestock start getting creative with your infrastructure.
