Appreciation post: the sub watchers were right about episode 1 of most seasonal shows
I started keeping a little note on my phone of every first episode I watch each season, and after 12 shows this spring I noticed the ones I bailed on were the ones where nothing happens until the last 4 minutes. The sub folks in the weekly threads kept saying the payoff was coming later, and for 3 of those shows they were right, so I went back and finished them. How far into a slow first episode do you usually give a show before you drop it?
