Hot take: spent $40 on a used DVD box set of Steins;Gate at a flea market in Denver and it fixed my whole "can't focus on anime" problem
A couple weeks ago I was scrolling streaming apps for like 30 minutes every night and never actually watched anything. I'd start 3 shows, get bored, jump to my phone, repeat. So I said screw it, bought the old Steins;Gate DVD set for $40 at a flea market in Denver, and it changed how I watch stuff. No autoplay, no "next episode in 5 seconds" timer, no 8 other shows staring at me from the home screen. You put the disc in, you watch 4 episodes, you're done. I actually finished the whole series in a week and remembered everything that happened. Streaming made me treat anime like background noise and I didn't even notice it happening. Now I'm wondering how many shows I "watched" that I could not tell you a single thing about. Anyone else switch back to physical media or is this just a me thing?
