Pro tip: skip the $40 mystery box at that anime con in Dallas

Bought one at the vendor hall in Dallas two winters ago thinking I'd score some rare figures. Got three keychains, a bent poster, and a DVD of a show nobody has heard of. The booth guy just shrugged and pointed at the no refund sign. Did anyone else get burned by these, or did I just pick the wrong booth?
