Been three years of ignoring my neighbor's bass until I moved my couch six inches

I finally got sick of the thumping one night and slid my couch against a load-bearing wall instead of the shared one. The difference in floor vibration was night and day. Anybody else find that moving furniture cut noise more than foam panels?

Wait, three years? You just sat there for three whole years?

@holly898 Some people just try to tough things out hoping it'll get better, but three years of bass is wild. The real trick nobody talks about is that furniture placement matters WAY more than dampening panels for low frequencies. Bass waves are long and they travel through the walls and floors, not the air. I put my bookshelf against the shared wall and it cut the vibration by half because the mass soaked it up. Foam panels are basically useless for bass, they only help with echo from voices or movie sounds.
