Vent: The new museum exhibit in Denver keeps calling that Mayan artifact a 'calendar stone' when it's clearly a ritual altar. Saw it last month and the plaque is still wrong.

Email the curator directly, they usually fix stuff like that fast. I had a similar issue with a mislabeled fossil and they updated the sign within a week. Just find the contact info on the museum's website.

Overheard a guy at the tool crib say 'the machine doesn't lie, but the program can' when a part was off spec.

That guy at the crib is making everyone paranoid.

I called snake oil on those ceramic spray coatings for paint, but a buddy's truck changed my mind

My old Civic had the full clay bar and alcohol wipe down before I tried that spray. Even with all that, it started beading water weird after maybe two months. The stuff just doesn't seem to last like a real sealant in a bottle. Prep is key for sure, but the product itself feels weak.

My coffee grinder was set way too coarse for months

Ever try the paper towel test for grind size?

Serious question, I saw a kitchen in Portland using a steam wand for way more than just milk

Okay but @webb.blake that's exactly why it is a new use. Most cafes have that wand just sitting there only for milk. Using it to finish a dish instead of buying a whole other tool is clever and saves space. It's like using a wine bottle as a rolling pin because you don't have one. The innovation is seeing a common thing in a totally different way. Why buy a special steam gun if the coffee machine already does the job?
