Swapped my gas lawn mower for a manual reel one in Fresno, and my Saturday mornings got better
Last spring I was spending $16 every other week on gas and a new spark plug for a mower that still choked out on thick grass. I picked up a used reel mower for $45 off a guy in Fresno, and even with the extra passes it takes me 20 minutes instead of 35, zero fumes, and my neighbors stopped giving me the side eye. Why do we act like going electric is the only real answer when a sharp blade and two legs do the job for under 50 bucks?
$45 for a used reel mower is a great find, but I gotta say the gas math is a little off. I ran a push mower for years and a gallon lasted me 3 or 4 cuts, so that's more like $4 a cut, not $8. The reel is still the better deal, just wanted to set the record straight.
