A 30 year avionics guy told me to stop chasing intermittent squawks with the power on, and it saved my tail last month
I was raised on live probin with the rack hot, but he made me pull the breaker first and ohm it cold. Found a chafed cannon plug wire on a King Air in 20 minutes that had been ghosting the autopilot for a month. Anybody else got an old timer rule they still follow?
