Landlord said my shower curtain rod tip would never work, 4 months later and no mold
Everyone on here swears by those tension rods and I went along with it for 2 places. Kept getting that mildew ring on the ceiling in my bathroom in Cincinnati no matter how much I ran the fan. My super, Mike, finally asked why I wasn't just using a cheap plastic liner cut short so air gets through underneath. Did that 4 months ago and the ceiling spot dried up and never came back. Anyone else ditching the full length liner or am I the only one who didn't know?
Wait, Mike told you to cut the liner short? I've been battling that exact mildew ring for two years in my last apartment and nobody ever said a word about the liner length. I always thought the liner had to touch the tub or water would go everywhere, so I just kept scrubbing the ceiling with bleach like a fool. So you're telling me air just flows under the gap and the water still stays in the tub? That feels like it breaks some basic rule of how showers work but I guess physics doesn't care about my feelings. I'm staring at my shower right now trying to figure out if I own scissors or not.
