My neighbor in 4B practiced bagpipes at 6am for 3 days straight and I almost lost it
So last week I'm lying in bed at 6am and I hear this low droning sound coming through my wall, and I'm thinking great, the building's furnace is finally dying. Turns out it was my neighbor in 4B who decided to learn the bagpipes, and he picked the corner of his apartment that shares a wall with my bedroom. This went on for 3 mornings in a row, always starting right at 6, like he had an alarm set for it. On day 3 I finally knocked and asked him to maybe move to the other side of his place, and he looked at me like I'd asked him to give up his firstborn. Anyway I bought a $25 white noise machine off Amazon that night and honestly it's the real hero of this story. Has anyone else dealt with a neighbor whose hobby has a volume knob that only goes up?
Did your neighbor ever tell you why bagpipes of all things? A buddy of mine went through something close to this, except his neighbor got really into drum practice in their shared apartment. It started as just tapping on a practice pad, which was annoying but bearable, then one day the guy brought home an actual full drum kit and set it up right against the wall they shared. My buddy worked nights at the time so he'd get home around 8am and try to sleep while this dude was doing fills and blast beats for hours. He tried knocking and the guy said he could only practice during the day since he had work at night, which was fair on paper but terrible in real life. My buddy ended up moving his whole bedroom setup to the living room and sleeping on a mattress on the floor just to get some quiet, and he still says that year took ten years off his life lol.
