Neighbor's throwaway line about my shelf brackets changed my setup
My downstairs neighbor Frank caught me drilling into the wall last Tuesday. He said, "Why not just use command strips for that light stuff?" I laughed it off because I thought they were only for posters. Turns out I redid my whole kitchen rack with the heavy-duty ones, cost me $9 instead of the $40 bracket kit. No more patching holes when I move out, and honestly the wall looks cleaner. Anyone else had a stubborn habit that got fixed by one dumb comment?

Wait till you live in an apartment where the super is a total jerk about holes. My old building charged $150 for any wall damage no matter how tiny. I had all these floating shelves up with those ugly plastic anchors and when I moved I was staring at like 12 holes thinking about the bill. Friend of mine saw me patching them and goes "dude why didnt you just use the velcro strips, they sell them at the dollar store." Changed my whole rental life. Now every time I hang anything I ask myself if Future Me will regret it and honestly the strips have never failed me on stuff under like 15 pounds. Frank is a real one for that tip.
