Pro tip: Skip the $30 stick-on wall sound panels, they did nothing for my neighbor's TV
Back in my first place in Cedar Rapids around 2019, I dropped 30 bucks on a pack of those peel and stick foam panels for the wall I shared with a guy who loved late night action movies. I stuck up all 12 of them in one afternoon feeling pretty smart, and his surround sound still came through like he was sitting on my couch. Turns out they only soak up a little echo inside the room, they do basically nothing to block sound coming through drywall. I ended up just moving my bed to the other wall and hanging a thick blanket, which honestly worked better for zero dollars. Has anyone found a renter friendly fix that actually cuts down noise from the other side of a shared wall?
