The $40 blackout curtain rod I finally bought after 3 years of towel-wrapped curtain rods

I used to stuff a bath towel along the top of my bedroom window in my old studio on Elm Street to block the hallway light, then realized last month after my neighbor's new LED sign came on that the towel was trapping moisture and starting to mold, so I bought a proper tension rod with blackout curtains, has anyone else dealt with weird light leaks from neighboring buildings that make you do dumb temporary fixes?
