The hallway light timer that changed my laundry game

My building has this 10 minute hallway light timer by the basement door, and I used to panic running up and down with my laundry basket until I realized I could just wedge my flip flop in the door. Now I take my sweet time sorting socks down there. Has anyone else got a weird workaround for those stupid short timed lights?
