Had a drier belt snap mid job yesterday, customer was watching me like a hawk

I was at a house in Arlington replacing a belt on a Whirlpool drier. Took the front off, slipped the new belt on, went to test it and the drum wouldn't spin. Turned out the idler pulley was seized up too. Customer was standing right behind me asking if I knew what I was doing. Had to order a new pulley and come back today. Anyone else running into seized pulleys more often lately?

Had a drier belt snap mid job" yeah I had that same thing last month, just grabbed a universal pulley kit and it worked fine.

You said "grabbed a universal pulley kit and it worked fine" and that's pretty much exactly what I ended up doing. I was honestly surprised how easy it was to swap out, I thought I'd need to replace the whole assembly or something. The belt itself wasn't even that bad, it was just that one pulley that started squeaking real loud before it gave out. I just got a cheap kit from the hardware store and had it running again in like 20 minutes. Makes me wonder why they don't just ship those with better parts from the factory.
