PSA: that LG ice maker board will kill itself if you don't seal the door gasket right
Had a job in Phoenix last month where the evap fan was running nonstop because moisture was getting into the control board from a bad top freezer door seal. Customer paid $280 for a new board before I even looked at the gasket - has anyone else seen this pattern with the linear compressor models?

$280 for a board when it was just a gasket problem the whole time? That hurts to even read. What a waste of money on a part that probably would have died again anyway from the same moisture issue.

Is it really that big a deal though? Sounds like you fixed it for cheap after the fact, so you're back up and running either way.
