Saw a tech jam a screwdriver in a freezer drain last Tuesday and flood a kitchen
I was doing a ride along with a guy named Ray in Mesa last Tuesday and watched him shove a flathead straight down a freezer drain tube to clear it. He cracked the tube at the elbow and by the time we packed up, water was pooling under the fridge and the customer's laminate was lifting. That tube is plastic and thin, and 9 times out of 10 the clog is just ice or gunk you can melt with warm water and a turkey baster. A $12 drain snake from the hardware store would have saved him a $400 floor claim and a nasty phone call. Any of you got a go to trick for thawing those lines without tearing them up?

Cracked the elbow with a screwdriver? That tube is like paper thin, what did he expect would happen. Warm water down the line is all you need, no tools required.
