Spent $180 on a specialty refrigerator compressor and it was the wrong model
I ordered a compressor online for a Samsung fridge last week. Didn't double check the revision number on the sticker. Took me 3 hours to swap it out before I realized the terminals were in a different spot. Now I'm stuck with a part I can't return and a fridge that's still broken. Anyone else get burned by ordering parts without verifying the exact revision first?

My neighbor Mike did the exact same thing with a dryer motor (a whirlpool model) and had to eat $150 because the plug was rotated 10 degrees differently. He still keeps that motor in his garage as a reminder to check the part number twice before ordering.

That exact thing happened to me with a car part last year, and now I triple check every part number before I even click buy. It's wild how one tiny letter or number can make something completely useless.
