That 15 second guess thing hits home so hard. I spent weeks learning stacking software and messing with dark frames, then got a cleaner shot last summer just pointing my camera up and counting to 12. Sometimes dumb luck beats all the gear and math.

Rant: found a shorted board trace after 6 hours of staring at a schematic

Had a buddy with a Dell laptop that kept shutting off random. He tore it down like three times, swapped the battery, tried different chargers, all that. Turned out to be a single bent pin in the charging port that was shorting out when the cable wiggled just right. He found it after giving up and just staring at the thing in defeat, lol. Cost him nothing but like two weekends of his life. Wild how the tiny stuff gets you every time.

Ha, your frugal group would hate my kitchen then. I've got a rice cooker I bought for $150 that gets used pretty much daily, and my mother in law called it a waste of counter space right up until she tried the rice. That thing has outlasted two microwaves at this point. People just don't do the math on stuff they use all the time.
