Dive sup in Morgan City told me my umbilical float was dragging, cost me 40 minutes of bottom time
Last Tuesday we were doing a routine inspection on a platform leg in 60 feet of murky water off Morgan City and my tender kept signaling me to check my gear. Turns out my umbilical float had slipped down and was dragging across the leg, snagging on every weld seam while I tried to work. How do you guys keep your floats locked in place without over-tightening and pinching the line?

Zip tie a short piece of pool noodle above the float as a bumper.
