Rant: found a shorted board trace after 6 hours of staring at a schematic

Last Friday I had a server mobo that kept killing RAM slots, everyone said replace it, but I traced it down to a blown cap near the DIMM header on a board from 2019. Replaced it with a $2 part from a local shop in Cleveland and it booted clean. Anyone else waste a whole day on something that tiny before?
