Spent $450 on a fancy multimeter and I regret it

Bought a Fluke 87V because everyone said it was the gold standard, but my cheap Klein does the same job for fridge compressors. Anyone else find the extra cost just buys bragging rights?

That $450 Fluke is a total waste if you're just checking fridge compressors (you know, continuity and basic resistance). The real value shows up when you're diagnosing variable frequency drives or dealing with really noisy electrical environments where a cheaper meter gives false readings. Most homeowners and simple appliance guys won't ever need that extra capability, so your frustration makes total sense.

Makes me wonder how much stuff we all overpay for just in case we might need it someday.
