Rant: Wasted $300 on a cheap pole pruner from a big box store

Bought a fiberglass pole pruner at Lowe's back in April. First big limb I tried to cut, the head got stuck and the rope snapped. Took it back but they said no returns on used tree gear. Ended up borrowing a buddy's Silky and it cut through like butter. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way?
